If you need more inspiration that that go with: West Coast Casual!

But what does that mean? Here is what AI has to say about it:

West Coast casual themed party wear is defined by a “polished effortless” aesthetic, blending comfortable, breathable fabrics with chic, modern, and often boho-inspired pieces. It emphasizes individuality, layering, and a “sunshine and beaches” vibe, prioritizing comfort without looking sloppy.
Key Elements of West Coast Casual
  • Fabric & Fit: Breathable cotton, linen, gauze, and denim. Silhouettes are generally loose, flowing, and comfortable.
  • Colors: A mix of neutrals (white, beige, tan) and bright, sunny colors, often featuring earthy tones.
  • Layering: Essential for changing temperatures, using denim jackets, cardigans, or light kimonos.
  • Footwear: Comfortable and functional, such as sandals, ankle boots, sneakers, or wedges.
Outfit Ideas for Women
  • Coastal Cowgirl: A flowy maxi or midi dress paired with western-style ankle boots, or a denim skirt/dress with cowboy boots.
  • Beach Chic: A flowy sundress, rompers, or a maxi dress, perhaps with subtle, colorful accessories.
  • Modern Casual: Straight-leg or wide-leg jeans with a tailored tee, a satin camisole, or a white sneaker combo.
  • Boho Vibe: Floral print dresses, turquoise jewelry, or crochet tops.
  • Set Style: Coordinated two-piece sets, such as a matching linen top and shorts or wide-leg pants.
Outfit Ideas for Men
  • Relaxed & Trendy: High-quality white t-shirt with classic blue jeans or khaki shorts.
  • Layered Look: A band tee or linen button-down shirt paired with an open flannel or casual jacket.
  • Modern West Coast: A short-sleeve button-down, a light sweatshirt, or an oversized hoodie.
  • Footwear: Stylish sneakers or desert boots.
Accessories & Finishing Touches
  • Sunglasses: Large-framed or stylish, modern sunglasses are a staple.
  • Jewelry: Layered, boho-style jewelry, particularly turquoise or gold, as seen on Pinterest.
  • Hats: A casual wool hat or a classic baseball cap.
What to Avoid
  • Dressing in a way that feels stiff or overly formal.
  • Uncomfortable, high-heel shoes.
  • Heavy, non-breathable fabrics.
Essentially, the look is meant to be highly individualistic—feel free to mix vintage finds with modern basics,

Absolutely! We’re bringing ours. Please include them in your RSVP

Nah. Your presence is our present! We genuinely do not expect anything, and there is nothing we need. We’re just excited to finally celebrate with you!

However, we also know that gift-giving is a beautiful love language for many. If finding a gift brings you joy, we will absolutely accept it with open arms and full hearts, because making you feel welcome and valued is what matters most to us. But please know that simply celebrating with you is all we truly want!

There is tons of parking around Windsor Park. First try Windsor Road, then loop around Newport Ave, then try Currie Road. If there is nothing on any of these streets, try a side street. Always obey the parking signs! The parking authority in Oak Bay can be ruthless with tickets

Please RSVP by July 25th, earlier is better

First, thank you for coming!

Second, here are some hopefully helpful tips:

Travel to the Island

The airport (YYJ) is about:

  • 35 mins from downtown via car (uber, lyft, cab)
  • 1.5 hours from downtown via bus

The bus doesn’t come very often.

If you are flying in, let Kira or Devin know and we will help coordinate getting you from the airport to where you’re staying.

Hotels

B.C. doesn’t really believe in AirBnB. There are a few hotels in Oak Bay close to the venue, there are way more hotels downtown. We don’t have a group booking anywhere, the number of out-of-town guests is too small.

Food

There is lots of great food here! Our recommendations would take more space than this text box. Get in touch if you’d like to talk food 🙂

We’re sorry to miss you!

Since we skipped the traditional wedding reception when we eloped 5 years ago, we decided it would be fun to host a big party every 5 years. This is the first of many. If you can’t make it this year, we’ll see you in 2031.

That makes sense… get in touch with Kira or Devin (email, text, phone, carrier pigeon) and we’ll do what we can to get you an answer. If it’s a really really good question, we’ll add it to this list
