Downsides
Working for Kirk CPA is not a fit for everyone, but if you have the right personality, you’ll love it.
Here are some fair expectations:
- 95% of your communication with the team and clients is written. You must be able to write clearly, concisely, and warmly. It’s imperative our clients feel supported, which means clearly explaining complex accounting and tax concepts via email in a warm tone.
- Deadlines are absolutely required to be met – this is non-negotiable.
- You will need to be self-directed and very self-organized. Besides hard deadlines, I will not be following up on work assigned and I expect it to be completed well and on time.
- You will need to receive feedback and adjust. Making the same mistakes over and over will not be tolerated, so self-review is a critical skill.
- You need good mental and physical stamina, and you MUST have the discipline to “turn off” and recharge during off hours. You should have a regular exercise regimen or activities for decompressing.
